    Caroline Alarcon

    Term: 2016-2019

    Caroline wanted to be a part of the continuing work of making Carpinteria a great city for businesses to grow and be successful. This included providing and taking advantage of networking opportunities and also giving back to the community. She has extensive experience as a supervisor within Santa Barbara County. She has leadership qualities in public engagement, fiscal responsibility, and strategic planning and has participated in writing policies and closely collaborating with other governmental agencies. Since becoming a member Caroline has also served as a Chamber Ambassador Liaison.

    Dr. Roland Rotz is a clinical psychologist providing psychotherapy to the community for the past 20 years. He specializes in assessment and treatment for ADHD in adults and children. Roland is past president of the Rotary of Carpinteria and active in community affairs.

    Hickey Bros. Land Co., Inc.
    Term: 2008-Present

    Terry is president of Hickey Bros. Land Co., Inc., a family owned commercial, residential and farming business. She is a Carpinteria native. Her family has been in Carpinteria since the early 1850’s. She is active in the community and enjoys spending time with family, traveling and camping.

    Shelley is a Certified Public Accountant with over 25 years of experience in the accounting field. Her firm specializes in tax preparation, accounting and payroll processing serving both individuals and the business community. Shelley enjoys volunteering and participating in local events and spending time with family and friends, especially her three grandchildren.

    Brian Falk
    Brian Falk, Ph.Dc.,L.Ac.
    Term: 2016-2019

    Brian wanted to help both the other businesses in town and help serve the community. He brings with him knowledge from a variety of subjects and disciplines in health, psychology, education, horticulture, and public speaking. Brian is a Doctor of Chinese Medicine and practices Acupuncture, Herbal Remedies, Medical Massage, Nutritional Counseling, and Transformational Breath work.

    Anthony Castillo serves as Vice President for Alliance Wealth Strategies. Anthony began his career in finance working in the Carpinteria/Santa Barbara community in 1999. He has held various titles over the years, but customer service is the skill he is best known for. Today, Anthony provides operational management and support for the Alliance team. Additionally, he is active in the Santa Barbara community and has served as Executive Board Member for the Carpinteria Boys & Girls Club Foundation and board of the Carpinteria Valley Chamber of Commerce. He also continues to support various other local non-profits such as CEF, Lyons Club, Girls Inc. and many more.

    City of Carpinteria - City Manager Ex-Officio
    Term: 2001-Present

    Dave is the City Manager for the City of Carpinteria. He began working for the City in 1999 and prior to that worked 13 years in city planning for Cathedral City in Riverside County. Dave serves on the Carpinteria Children’s Project Board of Directors, the THRIVE Carpinteria Executive Committee, the South Coast Task Force on Youth Safety, the Finance Committee of Girls Inc. of Carpinteria, and is a member of the Rotary Club of Carpinteria. Dave lives in Carpinteria with his wife, Trish. They have two daughters, Erin and Megan.

    Leo is a Carpinteria Native with 29 years of banking experience. He is a member of the Carpinteria Lions Club. Leo is also a past President of the California Avocado Festival and served as board member for 7 years. He is a Carpinteria High School alumni, and is proud to be a part of this community.

    Karen grew up in Carpinteria and attended local schools. Married to Lin Graf, they have lived in Carpinteria for over 20 years. Their daughter Lauren will be attending Cal Lutheran University in fall 2017. Karen and her family have been actively involved in the Chamber for over 30 years. Currently, Karen and her team are in charge of the Carpinteria Valley Chamber Annual Awards Banquet. Also, together with her parents John & Vera Welty, she runs their cut flower business, Hilltop Flowers, Inc.

    Jack’s Bistro & Famous Bagels
    Term: 2016-2019

    Doralee wanted to become a Chamber Board member so that she could participate and interact in the community in a more effective manner and show her enthusiasm for growing the Carpinteria Valley Chamber of Commerce.

    As CEO of Jacks Bistro & Famous Bagels she oversees the operations and strategically positions the company for growth and stability. While Jacks has been awarded Best Bagels in the Tri Counties for the last 20 years her goal and mission statement is to be the best company in the Tri Counties. Doralee attended Berkley and has a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from Pasadena College. She had a successful Chiropractic practice for many years before moving to this area in 1991.

    Curtis is a Native Carpinterian and Past President of the Carpinteria Lions Club. He is very involved in the community and serves on numerous Board of Directors,  including the Carpinteria Education Foundation and Carpinteria Community Building Association.

    Term: 2017-2019

    Doug grew up on Long Island, NY and moved to California to attend the University of San Francisco. He has spent the majority of his career in San Francisco working for technology companies. In 2015, he and his wife decided they wanted a change in lifestyle, and to be closer to family – so they moved to Santa Barbara. He currently heads the Corporate Communications department at Procore. He and his wife have a small dog named Olive. Doug enjoys riding his bike instead of driving and surfs whenever he can.

    Kathy holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration and has over 25 years’ experience working with Medicare, Long Term Care, and Home Care. Kathy specializes in helping current retirees or those planning for retirement develop a personal plan. Both Kathy and her husband are Carpinteria High School Alumni.

    University of California, Santa Barbara Office of Government Relations
    Term: 2017-2020

    Monica holds the position of Assistant Director for Governmental Relations at UC Santa Barbara. The Office of Government Relations at UC Santa Barbara serves as the University's liaison to federal, state, and local elected officials and public agencies. She has been with the University since 2006, following her time working for former Congressman Xavier Becerra in his Washington, DC and Los Angeles offices. Monica sits on the Aliso Elementary School Site Council and the City of Carpinteria "Carpinteria First" Committee. She has a Masters in Education from Columbia University's Teachers College and a BA in history from Princeton University. Monica lives with her husband, Ruairi, and two daughters in Carpinteria.

  • Danita Rodriguez
    California State Parks, Channel Coast District
    Term: 2017-2020

    Danita Rodriguez is the superintendent for the Channel Coast District which includes State Parks in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties. She has been a State Parks employee for almost 40 years. Danita recently transferred from Northern California where she was the District Superintendent for a number of parks in the great Bay Area. Danita graduated from Chico State University with a degree in Recreation and Parks Management and obtained her Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certificate from Butte College. Most recently, Danita has served on the State Parks Transformation Team for the last 2 years, co-chairing the Partnerships Committee. She has worked directly with underserved youth for a number of years and continues to support efforts for parks to be relevant to all communities. Many of her favorite activities are water-related such as scuba diving, kayaking, swimming, paddle boarding, snowboarding, and of course hiking and camping.

    He was selected as Carpinterian of the Year 2016. He is the Past-Chairman of the Board during 2009 and 2010, Past President, 2010/2011, and active member of the Rotary Club of Carpinteria. Paul is Chairman of Thrive Carpinteria; a community advisory board of The Carpinteria Children's Project and President of the Congregation of Faith Lutheran Church since 2011. He has also served as founding Chairman of Carpinteria First (First Friday) and as Commander of the local Base of U.S. Submarine Veterans Inc.

    Paul and his wife Cheryl have lived in Carpinteria since 2001.
