    Curtis is a Native Carpinterian and Past President of the Carpinteria Lions Club. He is very involved in the community and serves on numerous Board of Directors,  including the Carpinteria Education Foundation and Carpinteria Community Building Association.

    Joseph Cambray, Ph.D
    Pacifica Graduate Institute
    Term: 2019-2021

    Joseph Cambray, Ph.D., is President and Provost of Pacifica Graduate Institute as well as a Jungian analyst. He is Past-President of the International Association for Analytical Psychology, and former US Editor of the Journal of Analytical Psychology. For many years, he was on the faculty of the Center for Psychoanalytic Studies at Harvard Medical School.

    Caroline wanted to be a part of the continuing work of making Carpinteria a great city for businesses to grow and be successful. This included providing and taking advantage of networking opportunities and also giving back to the community. She has extensive experience as a supervisor within Santa Barbara County. She has leadership qualities in public engagement, fiscal responsibility, and strategic planning and has participated in writing policies and closely collaborating with other governmental agencies. Since becoming a member Caroline has also served as a Chamber Ambassador Liaison.

    Shelley is a Certified Public Accountant with over 25 years of experience in the accounting field. Her firm specializes in tax preparation, accounting and payroll processing serving both individuals and the business community. Shelley enjoys volunteering and participating in local events and spending time with family and friends, especially her three grandchildren.

    Term: 2008-Present

    Terry is president of Hickey Bros. Land Co., Inc., a family owned commercial, residential and farming business. She is a Carpinteria native. Her family has been in Carpinteria since the early 1850’s. She is active in the community and enjoys spending time with family, traveling and camping.

  • Clyde Freeman
    Montecito Bank & Trust
    Term: 2019-2021

    Clyde has over 47 years of banking experience and has been with Montecito Bank & Trust for over 15 years. His specialty is commercial real estate lending and construction lending. He is a US Navy Vietnam Veteran. He holds a BS in Accounting and a Masters in finance. Over the past ten years, he has been very involved in the community and serves on numerous Board of Directors. He’s the Immediate Past President of the Carpinteria Lions Club, Board member of the Carpinteria Community Building Association, the Carpinteria Valley Historical Museum, the Citizens’ Board Oversight Committee, and the Finance Committee of Girls Inc. of Carpinteria and a Past President of Girls Inc. of Carpinteria., and is Treasurer of Carpinteria Beautiful. Clyde lives in Carpinteria with his wife Diana. They have three children and eight grandchildren.

    Term: 2016-2019, 2020-2023

    Doralee wanted to become a Chamber Board member so that she could participate and interact in the community in a more effective manner and show her enthusiasm for growing the Carpinteria Valley Chamber of Commerce.

    As CEO of Jacks Bistro & Famous Bagels she oversees the operations and strategically positions the company for growth and stability. While Jacks has been awarded Best Bagels in the Tri Counties for the last 20 years her goal and mission statement is to be the best company in the Tri Counties. Doralee attended Berkley and has a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from Pasadena College. She had a successful Chiropractic practice for many years before moving to this area in 1991.

    Julie attended Santa Barbara City College and received a Bachelor’s degree from California State University, Northridge in Communications; Minor in Sales and Marketing. Former Soccer Coach for 14 years and PTA President for the Conejo Valley School District. I worked in the Promotional Advertising industry as a business owner and Director of Operations for 15 years. I have been in Staffing & Recruiting for the past 7 years. Currently, I am working for Ultimate, a Roth Staffing company, the largest privately-owned staffing firm. I am the Business Solutions Team Lead for Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties

    Holiday Inn Express & Suites
    Term: 2019-2021

    Michael Ensign has been the General Manager of the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Carpinteria since the hotel’s opening in April of 2000. He is a past Chairman of the Chamber, having served in this role in 2003 & 2004 and again in 2016. Michael is a Past President and active member of the Rotary Club of Carpinteria and has previously served on the boards of the Santa Barbara Conference & Visitor’s Bureau and Film Commission, and the Greater Santa Barbara Lodging & Restaurant Association.  He is a 5th generation Goleta native but has grown to love Carpinteria almost as much as his home town. Michael is happily married to the love of his life, Yvette and his favorite pastime is spending time and traveling with Yvette and their four children.

    UC Santa Barbara Office of Government Relations
    Term: 2017-2020

    Monica holds the position of Assistant Director for Governmental Relations at UC Santa Barbara. The Office of Government Relations at UC Santa Barbara serves as the University's liaison to federal, state, and local elected officials and public agencies. She has been with the University since 2006, following her time working for former Congressman Xavier Becerra in his Washington, DC and Los Angeles offices. Monica sits on the Aliso Elementary School Site Council and the City of Carpinteria "Carpinteria First" Committee. She has a Masters in Education from Columbia University's Teachers College and a BA in history from Princeton University. Monica lives with her husband, Ruairi, and two daughters in Carpinteria.

    Term: 2001-Present

    Dave is the City Manager for the City of Carpinteria. He began working for the City in 1999 and prior to that worked 13 years in city planning for Cathedral City in Riverside County. Dave serves on the Carpinteria Children’s Project Board of Directors, the THRIVE Carpinteria Executive Committee, the South Coast Task Force on Youth Safety, the Finance Committee of Girls Inc. of Carpinteria, and is a member of the Rotary Club of Carpinteria. Dave lives in Carpinteria with his wife, Trish. They have two daughters, Erin and Megan.

    Joey Zumaya is a Public Sector Manager who also handles community affairs at LinkedIn. He is a business and community leader with a passion for the underserved. After spending over a decade in business communications consulting, he pivoted to the online learning industry. Through headline making acquisitions (lynda.com, LinkedIn and Microsoft), he has emerged as a strong leader at LinkedIn where he now oversees activities across government business, community relations and diversity initiatives. Joey now serves on multiple community and non-profit boards at the local and national level.

  • Karen Graf

    Karen grew up in Carpinteria and attended local schools. Married to Lin Graf, they have lived in Carpinteria for 20 years. Raising a daughter Lauren who is 17 and attends Villanova Preparatory School in Ojai. Together with her parents, John & Vera Welty, they run their cut flower business-Hilltop Flowers.

    Term: 2019-2021

    Larry Doris is the Sr. Director of Manufacturing and Site Manager of Agilent Technologies in Carpinteria since December of 2017. Larry led operations for more than 25 year in the medical imaging, printing, pool, data storage, and pharmaceutical industries. He has managed four manufacturing plants and has successfully deployed award winning operational excellence in multiple global manufacturing and supply chain operations. Larry and his family moved to Southern California in 2004 and he has served on the Board of Directors of the Camarillo Chamber of Commerce and the United Way of Ventura County.

    United Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Barbara County
    Term: 2020-2023

    Michael is the CEO of the United Boys & Girls Club, overseeing the day to day operations, budget and management of the entire organization with 11 different locations throughout Santa Barbara County. He has worked for the Club for the past 32 years at various different levels. He is active throughout Santa Barbara county with his wife and three children.

  • Sara Dearman

    Term: 2020-2023

    Sara Dearman has held the position of Public Affairs Representative for the Chevron West Coast Decommissioning Program since 2018, serving as the community and government representative for the team. She has been with Chevron since 2005, representing Chevron in various public affairs roles both in San Ramon, CA and Singapore. Prior to moving to Santa Barbara County, she was a Global Social Investment Advisor stewarding Chevron’s global annual social investment budget as well as implementing and leading the global social investment monitoring and evaluation tool to be able to collect data on impact enterprise-wide. Sara lives with her husband, Dustin, and our two young daughters in Santa Barbara.
